Arima Manabu

Director of the Fukuoka City Museum and professor emeritus at Kyūshū University. Born in 1945. Earned a doctorate in humanities from the University of Tokyo. Has written extensively on modern Japanese history. Author of Teikoku no Shōwa (Imperial Shōwa), Kokusaika no naka no teikoku Nippon—1905–1924 (Imperial Japan Amid Internationalization: 1905–1924), and coeditor of Katsuji media no jidai: Kindai Fukuoka no insatsu to shuppan (The Print Media Era: Printing and Publishing in Early Modern Fukuoka).
