Katō Izuru

CEO and chief economist at the Totan Research Co., Ltd., a firm affiliated with the Tokyo Tanshi Co., Ltd. Born in 1965. Graduated from the International Economics Division, Faculty of Economics, Yokohama National University in 1988. Joined the Tokyo Tanshi, where he worked as a money market broker; served concurrently as an economist for the company from 1998 on. Has held his current position since 2013. His works include Nichigin wa shinda no ka? (Is the Bank of Japan Dead?), Bānanki no FRB (Bernarnke’s Fed; coauthor), Nichigin deguchi nashi! (No Exit for the Bank of Japan!), and Dejitaru ka suru sekai to kin’yū (A Digitalizing World and Financial Industry).
