• Kenneth Mori McElwain

    Professor of comparative politics at the Institute of Social Science, University of Tokyo. His research focuses on comparative political institutions, most recently on the politics of constitutional design in Japan. An Irish national who was raised in Tokyo, he received his BA in public policy from Princeton University and PhD in political science at Stanford University, and previously taught at the University of Michigan before moving to his current post in 2015. His work has been published in numerous journals, edited volumes, and monograghs, most recently The University and Originality of the Japanese Constitution in Quantitative Perspective (Chikura Shobō, 2022).
