Murai Shōsuke

Received his doctorate in literature from the University of Tokyo. Has been an associate professor at the University of Tokyo Historiographical Institute and a visiting professor at the Beijing Center for Japanese Studies. Currently a professor of Japanese history at the University of Tokyo. Author of Ajia no naka no chūsei Nihon (Medieval Japan in Asia), Kyōkai o matagu hitobito (People Who Straddle the Border), and other works.
