    Economic journalist and management consultant. Born in 1962 in Nagoya. Has worked as an editor for Nippon Jitsugyo Publishing and as a writer for the production and planning department of Kao Corporation. Involved in numerous writing projects seeking the inside story on such topics as corporate management and today’s workplace. Has been reporting on café culture since 2007 for commercial magazines and broadcast media. Published works include Kafe to nihonjin (Cafés and Japanese People), Naze takakutemo ureru no ka (Why Expensive Goods Can Be Sold?), and Nihon kafe kōbō ki (A Chronicle of the Ups and Downs of Cafés in Japan).
