• Takashina Shūji

    Born in 1932. Did graduate work in art history at the University of Tokyo. Has been a professor at the University of Tokyo and director general of the National Museum of Western Art; is now director of the Ōhara Museum of Art and a professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo. Author of Runessansu no hikari to yami (The Bright and Dark Sides of the Renaissance), Gohho no me (The Eyes of Van Gogh), and other works.
