Yamada Hisashi

Vice chairman and senior economist at the Japan Research Institute. Specialist in macroeconomic analysis, economic policy, and labor economics. Graduated and received his PhD from Kyoto University. Joined Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp.) in 1987. Served as director of the Japan Center for Economic Research and the Business Strategy Research Center before assuming his current post in 2011. Publications include Shitsugyō naki koyō ryūdōka—Seichō e no aratana rōdō shijō kaikaku (Job Mobility Without Unemployment: New Labor Market Reforms for Growth).
