Professor in the Graduate School of Education at the Hyogo University of Teacher Education. Earned his undergraduate degree from the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto University, and his master’s from Hyogo University of Teacher Education’s Graduate School of Education. Assumed his present position in 2006, after working for 30 years as a teacher at prefectural high schools in Saitama. Specializes in theories of student guidance and counseling psychology. Has served on the Council on Anti-Bullying Measures of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology since 2014.
