• Fukumoto Tomoyuki

    Professor of economics at the Osaka University of Economics and research fellow at the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research. Graduated from Kyoto University in 1989. Joined the Bank of Japan the same year, then served in such capacities as chief representative of the Beijing Representative Office, deputy director-general of the International Department (responsible for Asia), and director-general of the International Department. Left the BOJ in 2021 and assumed his current position in April of the same year. Publications include Chūgoku gensoku no shinsō: Kyōdō fuyū jidai no risuku to chansu (China’s Slowdown: Risks and Opportunities in the Era of “Common Prosperity”).
