Furuta Ryō

Professor at the University Arts Museum, Tokyo University of the Arts, where he teaches modern Japanese art history. Previously worked as a researcher at the Tokyo National Museum and senior research fellow at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. Books include Tawaraya Sōtatsu, which won the Suntory Arts Prize, and Nihonga to wa nan datta no ka (What Was Nihonga?).
