Nutritionist and amateur chef. Operates the Misa Kitchen cooking course, which focuses on healthy, simple recipes drawing direct lines from farm to table. Also produces menu options for corporate and governmental cafeterias and dabbles in food photography. Since 2016 has been fascinated by the potential of miso, running a website exploring the ingredient and traveling the length and breadth of Japan looking for new miso flavors to add to her collection. Makes frequent media appearances; author of Kiseki no hakkō chōmiryō: Miso no kyōkasho (The Miraculous Fermented Seasoning: A Miso Primer) and other works.
