Kaneko Tatsuhito

Sportswriter. Born in 1966 in Kanagawa Prefecture. After graduating from Hōsei University, joined Sakkā daijesuto (Soccer Digest) as an editorial department writer. Went freelance in 1995. Was awarded the Mizuno Sports Writer award for the stories “Sakebi” (The Scream) and “Dansō” (Fault Lines), published in the magazine Number while on assignment in Barcelona. Books include Kessen zen’ya (Eve of the Finals), Zanpai—2002 no jokyoku (Utter Defeat: Prelude to 2002), and Rasuto wan (The Last One), the story of elite Paralympic athlete Nakanishi Maya. Writes for a variety of media outlets, including Number and Suponichi.
