    Psychiatrist. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture. Earned an undergraduate degree in medical science from Osaka University and completed doctoral studies at Kyoto University. Studied Lacanian psychoanalysis at Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis on a French government scholarship, where she obtained an advanced degree. Has conducted analyses of criminal psychology and the structure of psychological disorders based on her clinical experience. Has also examined the structural issues underlying society from the perspective of psychoanalysis. Author of Musabetsu satsujin no seishin bunseki (Psychoanalysis of Murderers Who Commit Indiscriminate Killings) and Kakudai jisatsu: Tairyō satsujin, jibaku tero, muri shinjū (Murder-suicides: Mass Murders, Suicide Attacks, Forced Suicides).
