Kawakami Hiroshi
Professor at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Informatics. Born in 1964 in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. Specialist in systems design theory. Earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in engineering from Kyoto University. Worked as an assistant professor at the university’s Graduate School of Informatics and became a professor at the university’s design studies unit. In his present post since 2018. Author of several books, including Fuben kara umareru dezain: Kōgaku ga ikasu jōshiki o koeta hassō (Design Born from Inconvenience: Engineering Off-the-Wall Ideas) and Fuben’eki no susume (In Praise of the Benefits of Inconvenience).
