Kichiya

Born 1961 and raised in Shirokanedai, Minato, Tokyo. Graduated from Keiō University. Adopted the title “Kichiya, Ukiyo Photographer” in 2013, after beginning his project of re-creating Utagawa Hiroshige’s One Hundred Famous Views of Edo in photographs to juxtapose past with present. Held his first solo exhibition in December 2017 at the Gallery 2 in Nikon Plaza Shinjuku.
