• Kobayashi Takashi

    Professor at the Center for the Study of Dialectology, Tōhoku University, specializing in dialects and the history of Japanese. Born in Niigata Prefecture in 1957. Graduated from Tōhoku University and later earned his doctorate in literature there. Previously worked as a researcher at the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics. Has worked to record dialects in Tōhoku following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Works include Mono no iikata seitō (Ways of Saying Things in West and East) and Hōgen ga akasu Nihongo no rekishi (What Dialects Reveal About the History of Japanese).
