Mitsuhashi Junko

Historian who specializes in the social and cultural history of sexuality. Lectures at schools including Meiji University and Tsuru University. A specialist in socio-cultural histories of gender and sexuality, Mitsuhashi’s own experience as a transgender woman has made her an authority on the history of transgender society and culture. Publications include Josō to Nihonjin (Drag and the Japanese) and Shinjuku “seinaru machi” no rekishi chiri (Shinjuku: Historical Geography of a Sex City).
