Nakamura OsamuNAKAMURA Osamu

Photographer. Born in Hiroshima in 1971. Earned a degree in literature from Seikei University. Started his photography career as a Reuters correspondent based in Beijing. Apprenticed for five years under famed portrait photographer Sakata Eiichirō before starting out on his own in 2006. Based in Tokyo, he travels the world in search of subjects. In 2020, he won the newcomer’s category of the Photo City Sagamihara competition and was a finalist of the Domon Ken Award for his photo book Home: Portraits of the Hakka that features mountain communities in China’s Fujian Province.
