Ogawa Naoyuki
Doctor of folklore studies and professor at Kokugakuin University. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1953. Joined Kokugakuin University as a lecturer in 1994, later becoming an assistant professor before assuming his present position in 2003. Is also a visiting professor at the College of Foreign Languages, Nankai University, China, and head of the Yanagita Kunio Ina Folklore Studies Research Center. Has also been a visiting professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. Writer of Nihon no saiji denshō (Japan’s Seasonal Folklore). Writer and editor of Nihon no shoku bunka 1: Shokuji to sahō (Japan’s Food Culture 1: Meals and Etiquette) and Orikuchi Shinobu: Shi to saisei, soshite tokoyo/takai (Orikuchi Shinobu: Death, Rebirth, and the Afterlife).
