Okamoto Yukio

Foreign policy commentator and president of Okamoto Associates Inc. Born in 1945. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Hitotsubashi University. Served as a career diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1968 to 1991, including a term as director of the First North America Division. Special advisor to the prime minister, 1996–98 and 2003–4. Research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for International Studies since 2012.
