    Professor at Komazawa University’s Faculty of Law. Expert on the theory of political institutions. Born in Tokyo in 1954. Completed coursework for a master’s degree at Hitotsubashi University’s Graduate School of Law, and now holds a doctorate in law. Worked at the National Diet Library and as an associate professor and professor at Seigakuin University prior to assuming her current post in 2003. Numerous books include Hikaku gikai seijiiron: Wesutominsutā moderu to Ōshu tairiku-gata moderu (Comparative Parliamentary Government: The Westminster Model and the Continental European Model) and Nihon no Kokkai: Shingi suru rippōfu e (Turning Japan’s National Diet into a Deliberative Body).
