Sugita ShōeiSUGITA Shōei

Utsunomiya University professor emeritus. Born in Iwate Prefecture in 1952. Earned doctorates in medicine, with a specialty in neuroanatomy, and in agriculture. Became interested in crows after dissecting a corvid brain and began studying the birds’ behavior, morphology, and ecology. Recent publications include Karasu-gaku no susume (In Praise of Crowology), published in 2018.
