Takeda Kaoru

Sports writer. Born in Miyagi in 1950. Started out as a reporter for the sports daily Hōchi Shimbun before going freelance in 1985. Currently writes mainly on tennis, marathon racing, and baseball. Publications include Orinpikku zentaikai (Olympic Almanac), Marason to Nihonjin (The Japanese People and Marathons) and Sābu ando borē wa naze kieta no ka (Whatever Happened to the Serve-and-Volley Game?)
