Tanabe Masako

Art historian. Completed studies toward a doctorate in the humanities at Gakushūin University. Worked as a curator at Eisei Bunko Museum and Chiba City Museum of Art before becoming deputy director of the latter institution. Permanent director of the International Ukiyo-e Society. Received the 2018 Kokka Prize. Works include Motto shiritai: Kitagawa Utamaro (Learn More About Kitagawa Utamaro) and Ukiyo-e in the Bilingual Guide to Japan series.
