• Tanaka Yasuhiro

    Deputy director of the NPO Ibasho Japan since 2015. Received a PhD in engineering from Osaka University in 2007. Currently researching and implementing archive creation and similar support work for community places and planned communities opening around Japan. Has also been a researcher at the Shimizu Corporation Institute of Technology, among other positions. In 2013 became involved with Ibasho House in Ōfunato, Iwate Prefecture, where he focuses on operations and research. Also a specially appointed researcher at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Economics. Author of books including Kankyō to dezain (Shirīzu “Ningen to kenchiku” 3) (Environment and Design: People and Architecture Series, Vol. 3) and Machi no ibasho (Communal Places) and editor of Machikado Hiroba ākaibu ’07 (Street Corner Plaza archives ’07), Ibasho Hausu no ayumi (Ibasho House: A History), and other works.
