Associate professor at Meiji University. Born 1978 After graduating from Keiō University, worked at the Consulate-General of Japan in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and studied at the Free University of Berlin as a German Academic Exchange Service scholar before completing a doctorate at the University of Tsukuba. Specializes in the history of German-Japanese cultural exchange, particularly the history of Japanese studies in Germany and the history of cultural exchange between Okinawa and Germany. Author of Daitai de tanoshii Doitsugo nyūmon (The Fun Approach to Casual German) and Moyamoya o kaishō! Doitsugo bunpō doriru (No More Worries! German Grammar Drills).
