Umehara Jun

Railway journalist. Born in 1965. Worked at Mitsui Bank (today Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp.) and in the editorial department of Japan Railfan Magazine; became independent in 2000. His main writings include JR wa ikinokoreru no ka (Can JR Survive?), Vijuaru Nihon no tetsudō no rekishi (A Visual History of Railways in Japan), and Teiji unkō o sasaeru gijutsu (The Technology Behind On-Time Operation). Member of the Fukuoka Subway Management Strategy Informal Committee.
