Yamashita Kiyomi

Professor at the Graduate School of the University of Tsukuba. Born in 1951 in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Completed a doctorate program at the Graduate School of the University of Tsukuba, majoring in geography. Doctor of science. Does fieldwork on the world’s Chinatowns. Authored books include Tōnan ajia kajin shakai to chūgoku kyōgō--kajin chainataun no jinbun chirigakuteki kōsatsu (Chinese Societies in Southeast Asia and the Chinese Homeland: Human Geographic Observations of Chinese and Chinatowns) and Chainataun--sekai ni hirogaru kajin nettowāku (Chinatowns: The Global Spread of Chinese Networks).
