Yamashita Shigeki

Born in 1947. Began taking photographs of natural scenery around Japan in 1998. More than 40 exhibitions of his work have been held, focusing on such themes as Mount Fuji and Hokkaidō, as well as Nara and its ancient Yamatoji roads. He is also noted for his photographs that integrate castles into natural landscapes. Numerous photograph collections include Hengen Fuji (Phantasmagorial Fuji), Nara Yamatoji (Nara Yamatoji Roads), and Shiro (Castles).
