Yokoyama Isao

Born in Asakusa, Tokyo in 1979. Graduate of Musashino Art University’s Department of Design Informatics. Began using furoshiki during his student days to try to reduce his use of disposables and be more responsible toward nature. Traveling on his own to all parts of the country with his belongings in a furoshiki on his back, he devised a variety of knotting methods and uses for furoshiki. Gained media exposure as the “furoshiki prince.” Works include Furoshiki de asobō (Fun with Furoshiki), Mainichi kawaii furoshiki (Everyday Cute Furoshiki), and Kurashi no tsutsumi (Everyday Wrapping). He demonstrates a variety of uses for furoshiki on his YouTube channel.
