New Japanese Restaurant Area to Open in Narita Airport
Narita, Chiba Pref., Nov. 16 (Jiji Press)—A newly created popular Japanese restaurant area in the Terminal 1 building at Narita International Airport in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, was opened to reporters on Wednesday, a day before its opening.
At NARITA Dining Terrace, in front of the international departure gate at Terminal 1, six restaurants offer typical Japanese food at reasonable prices, including sushi, as well as soba and ramen noodles.
Amid high interest overseas in Japanese cuisine, Narita International Airport Corp. aims to attract visitors from abroad to the new area.
Located in the center of the Terminal 1 building's fourth floor, NARITA Dining Terrace has a total floor space of some 765 square meters. The area was remodeled from a food court space in eight months.
Of the six Japanese restaurants, four launched for the first time at an airport, including a popular Japanese set-meal restaurant in the Gion traditional entertainment district in Kyoto, western Japan, and a Tokyo soba noodle restaurant with a history of more than 220 years.
