JAL to Reopen Haneda-New York Route on April 1 (News)

Tokyo, Jan. 19 (Jiji Press)—Japan Airlines said Thursday that it will start regular passenger flights connecting Tokyo International Airport at Haneda and New York on April 1, reopening the route scrapped 39 years ago.

JAL has been bound by restrictions on new route openings because it received public assistance for rehabilitation from its bankruptcy in 2010. The restrictions will be lifted at the end of March.
