Beer with Unique Ingredients Seen Hitting Shelves in Japan (News)


Tokyo, June 9 (Jiji Press)—Liquor lovers in Japan will likely be able to enjoy beer made with unique ingredients like citrus, coffee, and dried bonito from next year at the earliest.

The use of fruits, spices, and other materials will be allowed in beer production from April 2018, following a change in the definition of the alcoholic beverage under the country's liquor tax law.
