"Rurouni Kenshin" Manga Creator Allegedly Owned Child Porn (News)

Tokyo, Nov. 21 (Jiji Press)—Tokyo police on Tuesday sent prosecutors papers on the creator of the popular Japanese manga series "Rurouni Kenshin" for possessing child pornography in alleged violation of the law against child porn and prostitution.

Nishiwaki Nobuhiro, 47, whose pseudonym as the manga creator is Watsuki Nobuhiro, has admitted the allegation, informed sources said.

Tokyo's Metropolitan Police Department alleges that Nishiwaki, a resident of Nishitokyo, possessed still and video images of naked girls in their early teens on DVDs and CDs in his office in the western Tokyo city last month.

In the process of investigating a different child-porn case, the police came to suspect Nishiwaki to be a child-porn buyer, the sources said.

The police searched Nishiwaki's home and office last month and found dozens of discs believed to be child-porn DVDs in the office, according to the sources.
