Pokémon Shop, Cafe to Open in Tokyo's Nihonbashi


Tokyo, Nov. 30 (Jiji Press)—Takashimaya Co. said Thursday that an official Pocket Monster, or Pokémon, store and café will open on March 14, 2018, in one of the new shopping facilities the major Japanese department store is set to launch in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district.

The Pokémon center, featuring the popular Japanese anime, will be on the fifth floor of the east building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya SC.

It will be the first time for a Pokémon café to be permanently established. With a total floor space of about 1,300 square meters, the new center will be the largest of all such facilities.

Takashimaya hopes that the new store and café will attract young generations and visitors from abroad.

The new shop will sell a limited number of original products and offer Pokémon-related events.
