Tokyo, Jan. 24 (Jiji Press)—Yahoo Japan Corp. said Wednesday it will promote Kawabe Kentarō, senior executive vice president, to president after a general shareholders' meeting in June.

Kawabe, 43, will replace Miyasaka Manabu, 50, who will become chairman without the right to represent the company.

With the young president leading its operating team, Yahoo Japan will aim to enter new territories and achieve business expansion, the major Internet portal said.

Kawabe joined Yahoo Japan in 2000 and assumed his current post in June 2015.
