In July, convenience-store giant Lawson began rolling out “Petit Lawson” self-service stands in company offices in Tokyo. Employees can buy snacks and other goods using public transit smart cards like Suica and Pasmo. Lawson plans to set up 1,000 such sales points by the end of fiscal 2017.
