Japan core consumer prices rise 3.1% in March

Core consumer prices in Japan gained 3.1 percent in March from a year earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said Friday.
The nationwide core consumer price index, excluding volatile fresh food items, remained above the Bank of Japan’s 2 percent target for a full year.
For fiscal 2022, the key gauge of inflation rose 3.0 percent.
