Toyota, Mitsubishi Heavy to join forces to develop moon rover

Toyota Motor Corp. will collaborate with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. over a manned moon rover the automaker is developing with Japan's space agency, they said Friday, as part of efforts to accelerate the country's space development. Mitsubishi Heavy, which is separately developing an unmanned lunar explorer to be launched in 2025, will provide Toyota with data and know-how it obtains through running the vehicle on the surface of the Moon.
