URGENT: Japan logs 8.01 tril. yen current account surplus in 1st half of 2023

Japan recorded a current account surplus of 8.01 trillion yen ($56 billion) for the first six months of 2023, up from the same period a year earlier, the Finance Ministry said Tuesday.

For June alone, a current account surplus of 1.51 trillion yen was reported.
