URGENT: Japan logs 62.4 bil. yen trade surplus in Sept.
Japan logged a 62.4 billion yen ($416 million) trade surplus in September, government data showed Thursday.
Imports fell 16.3 percent while exports increased 4.3 percent.
In the first half of fiscal 2023 through September, Japan had a trade deficit of 2.72 trillion yen, the Finance Ministry said in a preliminary report.
