Japan logs 1.17 tril. yen current account surplus in Dec.

Japan posted a current account surplus of 1.17 trillion yen ($11 billion) in December, government data showed Monday. Among key components, the country had a goods trade surplus of 965.1 billion yen and a services trade deficit of 343.5 billion yen, according to the Finance Ministry's preliminary report. For 2020, Japan logged a current account surplus of 17.70 trillion yen, the ministry said.
