Economy

The Nikkei stock index topped the 30,000 mark for the first time in over 30 years in early morning trading Monday, boosted by gains on Wall Street late last week and Japan's first formal approval of a coronavirus vaccine for domestic use. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average has risen more than 6 percent this month to reach its highest levels since Japan's asset-inflated bubble economy.
