Tokyo stocks opened mixed Friday as buying on an upbeat Wall Street performance overnight was offset by selling over concerns about a recent rapid rebound of coronavirus infections in Japan. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 46.09 points, or 0.16 percent, from Thursday to 29,688.78. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.57 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,957.56.
