Japan logs 1.32 tril. yen current account surplus in April

Japan posted a current account surplus of 1.32 trillion yen ($12 billion) in April, staying in the black for 82 months, the Finance Ministry said Tuesday. Among key components, the country had a goods trade surplus of 289.5 billion yen and a services trade deficit of 954.8 billion yen, according to the ministry's preliminary report. Primary income, which reflects returns on overseas investments, logged a surplus of 2.18 trillion yen.
