Japan reports 1.91 tril. yen current account surplus in July

Japan logged a current account surplus of 1.91 trillion yen ($17.3 billion) in July, remaining in the black for 85 months, the Finance Ministry said Wednesday. Among key components, the country had a goods trade surplus of 622.3 billion yen and a services trade deficit of 584.9 billion yen, according to the ministry's preliminary report. Primary income, which reflects returns on overseas investments, recorded a surplus of 2.10 trillion yen.
