Japan logs 1.6 tril. yen current account surplus in February

Japan logged a current account surplus of 1.6 trillion yen ($13.2 billion) in February, marking the first black ink in three months, the Finance Ministry said Friday. Among key components, the country had a goods trade deficit of 176.8 billion yen and a services trade deficit of 203.5 billion yen, according to preliminary data released by the ministry. Primary income, which reflects returns on overseas investments, posted a surplus of 2.3 trillion yen.
