Rapid currency movements are "undesirable," Japan's top government spokesman said Wednesday, after the yen plunged to its lowest level in nearly 20 years against the U.S. dollar. Japan will monitor currency market developments, including the yen's recent depreciation, and their impact on the economy with vigilance, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a regular press conference.
