Japan's household spending in June rose a real 3.5 percent from a year earlier, increasing for the first time in four months, the government said Friday. Average spending by households with two or more people stood at 276,885 yen ($2,070), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said. Household spending is a key indicator of private consumption, which accounts for more than half of Japan's gross domestic product.
