Japan's July core consumer prices rise 2.4% on year

Core consumer prices in Japan rose 2.4 percent in July from a year earlier, government data showed Friday. The rise in the nationwide core consumer price index, excluding volatile fresh food items, followed a 2.2 percent increase in June, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said.
